As part of its series this year to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Commission on Protection of Competition, on November 15th 2011 the CPC hosts a Jubilee Competition Day under the theme “Current Trends and Priorities of Competition Policy”.   The EU’s national competition authorities and the European Commission have agreed a set of best practices on merger review. The best practices aim to foster cooperation and information sharing for mergers that do not qualify for review by the Commission but require clearance in several Member States.

  Finland’s new Competition Act becomes effective on 1 November 2011. The main amendments relate to merger control, penalties, the procedure adhered to in the review of competition issues and damages. The FCA has published guidelines (in Finnish) on the new Act for merger control, leniency procedure, penalties, and case prioritization.
