ICN is committed to engaging NGAs in the work of the ICN.

Our 200+ NGAs are overwhelmingly from the private bar (about 70%) and academia (15%), as well as business, consumer groups, and international organizations. More than half of our NGAs are from North and South America, a third from Europe, approximately ten percent from Asia, and a small percentage from Africa.

ICN leadership wants to broaden and deepen NGA participation. In September 2009, Steering Group Chair John Fingleton asked Bruno Lasserre, President of France’s Autorité de la Concurrence, to head outreach efforts as ICN’s first NGA Liaison. He has created an NGA-dedicated webpage on the ICN’s website. Bruno is also responsible for the quarterly update, posted earlier on this blog.

If you are interested in becoming an NGA, you can contact the member agency in your jurisdiction. Contact information is available here. You may also contact the ICN’s NGA liaison, Bruno Lasserre, President of the French Autorité de la concurrence, at ICN.NGALiaison@autoritedelaconcurrence.fr.

In contacting your member agency, it is helpful to identify the particular project(s) of interest to you. Details of current projects are available on the ICN’s website. Commitment to a particular project varies, but typically involves a minimum of two hours per month, in addition to participation in a biweekly or monthly conference call.
