Explaining the benefits of competition is a challenge for many competition agencies, particularly younger agencies. Strategies and approaches on how better to explain the benefits of competition to a variety of stakeholders, including the media, legislators, government, public authorities, business, and the general public, as well as how to evaluate, measure and present effects of competition and competition interventions, can help promote a competition culture. During this third teleseminar, speakers from Germany, Chile and the United States will discuss their experiences explaining the benefits of competition to the media (the first two programs addressed explaining the benefits of competition to business and the government). For more information about this program, click here.
In parallel with the teleseminar series, the group will be preparing and answering a short survey to further gather learning on agencies’ strategies to communicate the benefits of competition to various stakeholders, and how they evaluate their competition interventions. If you would like to learn more about the project and the survey, please contact the AWG co-chairs and project leaders at the Portuguese Competition Authority.
