ICN Home About Members Document Library Working Groups News and Events Contact

This entry is first in a series of ten “Web Wednesdays”: each Wednesday we will highlight one aspect of competition agencies’ websites, showcasing how members address a particular issue, and highlighting relevant ICN work product on the topic.

Today’s posting highlights leniency application contact points.

The ICN’s Anti-Cartel Enforcement Manual Chapter on Drafting and Implementing an Effective Leniency Policy urges transparency with respect to “contact information for officials involved in the implementation of the leniency program.” In its words, “a clear contact point for applicants is considered essential for an effective leniency program.”

One of the primary ways antitrust authorities provide information about a leniency program and the specific contact point for potential applicants is through their websites. Here is a sampling of how members make known whom to contact for leniency:

Bulgaria

Denmark

EU

France

New Zealand

Slovenia

Turkey (click on “Leniency Applications” at right)

UK

Many jurisdictions have also provided specific leniency contact information in their responses to the ICN Cartel Templates (Question 6Q), linked here.

Be sure to check back next week for the continuing series of “Web Wednesdays” when the ICN blog will highlight another aspect of members’ websites.
